Home Remedies : Asthama

The immune system is one of the most remarkable and complex systems within the human body. The main ‘ gates ‘ are the digestive system and the lungs.

The lungs let in air, while the nasal passages help to prevent unwanted agents from entering the lungs. Healthy, strong mucous membranes in the respiratory and digestive tract, are the first lines of defence against invaders. The respiratory system – the lungs and airways – together with the cardiovascular system is responsible for delivering oxygen from the lungs to every cell in the body and then for removing carbon dioxide and returning it to the lungs to be exhaled.
In asthma, there is an intermittent narrowing of the airways causing shortness of breath as well as wheezing. If asthma is severe, just trying to breathe can cause exhaustion. Asthma is associated with exposure to allergens – substances that cause an allergic reaction.
