Health Benefits of Zucchini

Zucchini (also known as Summer Squash or Courgette) are a type of small, young marrow with a tender, edible skin, which is where most of the nutrients are found. They can be eaten raw provided their bitter stems are removed, but are usually steamed, boiled or sautéed. Zucchini can also be cooked whole
  1. Nutritional Content : Zucchini contains Vitamin A, B6, C, K, Manganese, Potassium, Magnesium, Folate, Phosphorus, Copper & Thiamine. The Fibre in large quantities as well. Small amounts of Iron, Calcium, Zinc & other B Vitamins.
  2. Eye Health : Zucchini is rich in Vitamin C and Beta-carotene. It also contains Lutein and Zeaxanthin – 2 potent Antioxidants. These all help in lowering the risk of Macular degeneration and delays developing Cataracts, so are very good for Eye health.
  3. Weight Loss : Due to the high fibre and water content of Zucchini and the fact that it contains very few calories, it is useful to help reduce hunger, potentially leading to weight loss over time.
  4. Heart Health : The high Fibre and Pectin content of Zucchini and also the Potassium and Carotenoid content, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol so heart-healthily.
