Psoriasis is a “Chronic Autoimmune Condition” that causes the build up of skin cells. The buildup of cells, caused scaling on the skin’s surface.
Inflammation and redness around the scales is fairly common. Typical Psoriasis scales are whitish silver and develop in thick, red patches. Sometimes, these patches will crack and bleed. Scales typically develop on Joints, such as Elbows and Knees. They may develop anywhere on the body, including the Hands, Feet, Neck, Scalp, Face and less commonly affect the Nails, Mouth and the area around the Genitals.

9. Lose Weight : Several studies suggest that by shedding a few kilos your skin gets better.
10. Smoking : Smoking increases symptoms of Psoriasis so please Quit Smoking.
11. Moisturizing : Keep your skin moisturized at all times. Apply Coconut oil or a combination of Aloe Vera gel and Rose water in equal quantities.
Dietary Remedies
1. Alcohol: Alcohol increases the flare up of Psoriasis – Stay away from Alcohol.
2. Gluten Free : Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease and your symptoms may improve if you go Gluten Free. So restrict your grains to gluten free grains like Buckwheat, Quinoa, Millets, Amaranth, Corn and Oats.
3. Processed Foods : Processed, Refined foods, Junk foods with Trans Fats, Starches and Sugars all cause Psoriasis flare ups – exclude them from your diet.
4. Keep your body Alkaline : Eat foods like Fruits, Vegetables, Nuts and Sprouts which keep the internal pH of your body Alkaline.
5. Keep Hydrated : Drink the requisite amount of water your body needs – 35ml/kilo of Body Weight. Hydration is very important in Psoriasis because you shouldn’t let your skin go dry.
6. Healthy Fats : Include Fatty fish like Salmon and Tuna and healthy Omega-3 fatty acids like Olive and Coconut oil. Good fats from Seeds and Nuts are also important.
7. Antioxidants : Include antioxidant rich Herbs and Spices like Thyme, Sage, Turmeric, Cumin and Ginger.
