“Resharing this important post on Inflammation. Inflammation in any part of the body is a key symptom to understand that the overall Acid-Alkaline Balance of the body is not in sync. Follow these simple Home Remedies to allow you to take care of yourself and thus reduce chances of Inflammation in the body”.
A large proportion of diseases are caused by inflammation. In Ancient Greece, this was simply called “Inner Fire”. The Ancient Romans were already aware of the four main symptoms : Heat, Swelling, Redness and Pain.
In our society, Silent Inflammation is becoming increasingly widespread and symptoms are – Obesity, Diabetes-Type 2, Coronary Heart Disease, Carcinoma, Asthma and Allergies.
The doctors are able to diagnose us with an ‘ITIS’ problem (literally ‘inflammation of’) such as Tonsillitis (inflammation of the Tonsils), Gastritis (inflammation of the Stomach), Hepatitis (inflammation of the Liver), Arthritis (inflammation of the Joints), Nephritis (inflammation of the Kidneys), and so on.
Non – Dietary remedies :
1. Stress : is a prime driver of chronic inflammation. Do Meditation, Yoga, Golf, Gardening, or anything that really shuts your brain off so stress can melt away
2. Exercise : incorporate it in your daily routine as perspiring and clearing your head douses inflammation.
Sleep : schedule sleep like you schedule your work, allow your body its healing time.
3. Avoid NSAIDS : Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs like Ibuprofen and Naproxin. They may fight inflammation and pain but can lead to larger problems, such as Leaky Gut Syndrome, Bleeding Ulcers, or Renal Issues. Instead start with Botanical’s*** like Turmeric, Ginger, Bromelain, Capsaicin and Arnica Montana.
*** Notes relating to Botanicals:-
a) Turmeric should be mixed with black pepper to aid absorption.
b) Ginger reduces exercise-induced pain by almost 25% (Add ginger to coconut oil and lemon juice and apply on the affected area).
c) Bromelain (an enzyme derived from pineapple) has been used to combat inflammation.
d) Capsaicin (an active compound found in peppers to give them heat) it is made into a topical cream used to treat both muscle and arthritic joint pain.
e) Arnica Montana is used to treating Bruises, Sprains, Muscle aches, Wound healing, Joint Pain and Swelling. The Gel and Homeopathic Pills are available at most homoeopathic stores.

1. Avoid Saturated Fats, Refined Sugars, Carbohydrates, Red and Processed Meats as they trigger inflammation. Eat Nutrient-dense foods.
2. Eat foods high in Omega-3 Fatty Acids (like Egg yolks – preferably organic) and Fatty Fish (like Salmon, Mackerel, Sardines, Tuna) as they are essential in reducing and preventing inflammation.
3. Bone broth is anti-inflammatory as it contains a wealth of nutrients (Bone broth contains Gelatin and Nutrients such as proline and glycine, amino-acids which promote healthy joint function).
4. Vegetarian options and Complex Plant Nutrients are very effective at quelling inflammation – Avocados (contain oleic acid), Beetroots (high in anti-inflammatory properties), Broccoli (contains phytonutrients that inhibit inflammation)
